A traditional, quite exhausitng, but widely used fishing method throughout the Mekong Delta. It takes a while and many throws to actually catch anything substantial, but it only requires a small boat, a net, a good sense of balance, and a lot of practice.
The fisher in this picture had a very elegant and impressive technique. A bit unusual in this scene is the luxury of a boat driver as most fishers are on their own when out on the waters of the Mekong. Shot in Ben Tre, Eastern Mekong Delta. [80mm, f10, 1/250, ISO100]
